A green place in the city

Publié le par Jérôme

I have discovered a new sympatic place in the city. How to feel in the countryside without going out of the city ? It is easy. Let's go to Zakrzówek !

This place is the 8th district, Dębniki. Here is an old quarry. On the beginning of the 90's, part of it was submerged with water.

Now this place is well-know for diving and climbing.

The Diving Club Kraken manages the spot. It is possible to dive till 19 meters depth. The deepest point is at 32 meters depth, but the visibility is too low to allow to reach this point. But what is interesting to see there?

Few attractions were installed, such as a
Fiat 500, shelters and... a bus! You do not believe it? Look at that...

Karol Wojtyla, future John Paul II, worked there during the second World War.

The Skałki Twardowskiego park, second name given to this place, is also a good place for pic-nic, sunbathing, swimming or other games more or less dangerous such like that  :

Another example...

If you prefer, there is also possiblity to climb.

A little bit closer...

Other view of the place...
