The Kazimierz District
Kazimierz was founded by Casimir the Great in the 14th Century to counterbalance the city of Krakow. In the 15th century, the Jews settled down there after being chased away from Krakow. Nowadays, Kazimierz is still considered as the Jewish district of the city.

It was completly forsaken after the second World War and a lot of inhabitants went away. Kazimierz is now a very dynamic district for entertainment, with plenty of bars and restaurants. The new square (Plac Nowy) is the place to eat a typical Polish fast food, Zapiekanka, grilled baguette with whatever you want !
On Plac Nowy are different bars, for example Les Couleurs, the french bistro of the district or Alchemia, a well known Jazz Club. My favourite place called Miejsce is not so far from this square.
